We are interested in the biodiversity science to understand patterns of amphibian & reptile diversification in space and time at both species and population level. We conduct research on phylogeography of several model groups in the Western Palearctic and Afrotropic/Sub-Saharan Africa often with outreach into taxonomy. Occasionally we work on other taxa like e.g. bats or fishes.

Special attention is given to areas with an alarming habitat loss, especially diminishing African rainforests.
